Katie Gruver is a licensed English and Spanish speaking professional counselor in the state of Colorado and a licensed mental health counseling associate in the state of Indiana. She has her graduate degree in school counseling with a graduate certificate in mental health counseling both from Butler University in Indianapolis. Katie has extensive training in grief counseling as a prior facilitator of an Indianapolis social service organization focused on grief and loss.
Katie has experience working with young children from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and is trained to serve teenagers and adults as well. She has experience in crisis, addiction and anxiety in both the individual and group counseling settings.
Katie uses her cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and client-centered counseling approach to provide useful coping skills specific to individual counseling needs.
Katie is new to Colorado and worked as an elementary school counselor on the east side of Indianapolis for nearly three years. She will also be working in the Colorado school system this coming fall as a counselor for middle school students.
Katie is beyond thrilled to be able to serve those with mental health needs outside of the school setting at Brightside Counseling.
